3 Ways to Create a Success Mindset as a Believer in Business

3 ways to create a success mindset as a believer in business

As a believer in business, building a success-mindset is one of the most important things we can do for our future success. I get it though, it can be hard to focus on Mindset work while there are a thousand other more “pressing” tasks calling from our To-Do Lists. Prioritizing the growth mindset of a successful six-figure business owner has the potential to speed up your path to success quicker than almost anything else, so you may want to bump “create a success mindset” to the top of your list!

Why Mindset Matters as a Believer in Business

Creating a success-oriented mindset is not only a good idea for your success, but it is something that is mentioned often in scripture. In Romans 8:5-8 (ESV) we are told “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

A success-oriented mindset also prepares us to take the kind of action that is required to see success. If we don’t believe that success is possible, let alone probable for ourselves, we won’t take the action required to write that book, launch that new program, or hire that new coach. We must BELIEVE in our success in order to take the action that leads to success!

3 Steps to Creating a Success Mindset

1): Build on a Firm Foundation

Our mindset/thoughts need to be built on a strong foundation of the Word of God. This allows us to withstand the attacks of the enemy, the challenges that come, and the seasons of doubt that we all encounter as business owners.

If running a successful business was easy, everyone and their brother would have one. Knowing that a business will have challenges, and building your mindset around the truth that we are “more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37), prepares us for anything that may come our way.

We may face challenges on our journey to six-figures, but having a strong base will prepare you to see success! Here are some simple ways to build your business on a firm foundation:

• Create a list of Scripture-Based Affirmations that reinforce God’s good plans for you and read them and review them daily.
• Spend time daily in the Word and seeking God’s will for your life and business.
• Build a resource list of other believers in business that you can turn to for support and encouragement for when those challenges arise.

2): Guard Your Mind Constantly-It is attacked….Hard!

Our adversary the devil prowls around looking for those he can devour and one of his favorite plans of attack is to create doubt and confusion in our thoughts. He knows that if he can distract our thoughts and fill them with “what-ifs,” then he is keeping us from making progress towards the good plans the Lord has in store for us.

This is why it is SO important to ask for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus! (Phil. 4:7). We must daily put on the armor of God found in Ephesians Chapter 6 in order to strong in the Lord and His mighty power.

The enemy doesn’t want the transformation that our businesses can bring to the world, so he will do all he can to keep us discouraged and distracted. Be aware of these tactics and do all you can to stay focused on your call and filled with faith on the good and sure promises of the Lord.

I recommend getting into the habit of praying over your business daily. Ask for the Lord to cover your business with His shield of protection, and be sure to give him the praise due from all sales and victories. Praying protection over your business, and giving praise to God for his goodness are 2 sure ways to keep the enemy and his attacks away!

Remember….we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS!

3): Renew Your Mind in the Lord.

When I was younger in my walk as a believer, I was naïve to the idea that we had to work to control our minds. I thought of my mind as a part of myself that I had little control over. My thoughts and emotions seemed to have a mind of their own and often overflowed into my actions and words with negative results.

As I mature in my walk, I’ve found such freedom in learning that we get to choose what we think! Now, that doesn’t mean we don’t ever have negative or distracting thoughts, but it does mean that we get to choose what we spend time “feeding,”

In his word, the Lord gives us instruction on how to reset our minds to think like him and we would be wise to heed his instructions! Here are some favorite scriptures to keep front of mind as we work on renewing our minds in the Lord!

• Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
• Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
• Phil. 4: 8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
